RE: WOWbb

I haven't ever heard of WOWbb before, so this is new to me.

Their website doesn't seem to have much in the line of information, except for the price which looks nice and high....

It looks like your website http://www.tvanddinner.com uses WOWbb so maybe i'll go there and take a look at it there.

What sorts of features does it have that aren't available in other software, or do you like better?

What features (if any) is it missing?

RE: WOWbb

virtually every feature is included, and the admin area is super easy to use.
The biggest feature currently missing is subforums, but they are coming in the next upgrade and there is already a mod that has just been finished and will be available pretty soon.
Check out the forums for the program - http://www.wowbb.com/forums/
40,000 posts about the program there.

And yes, my entire TV site is wowbb and I also own a custom wowbb theme and mod site at http://www.wowbblounge.com/bb

RE: WOWbb

Thanks for the info, is there any sort of trial version, or demo site that is available for WOWbb? So that we can all see the admin area and play with the features before going and paying the money for it. Because I personally like to be able to test software to see if it is going to meet my needs, before I go and purchase it.

RE: WOWbb

yes - when you sign up (see the forums) and contact them (through the main site) you can do a 30 day trial with the stock board (no mods or custom themes)

RE: WOWbb

Ok, thanks for the info....that is good to know. I must have missed that when I went to their website.

It would be nice if they had a big thing...indicating a 30 day trial or whatever, on their website...so that you could easily know that one exists.

How does doing themes for the boards work? Do you have to edit files, or can you do it all through the admin panel?

RE: WOWbb

mainly through ftp. you adjust the existing images and then you can do just about anything. and if you know html and php coding you can literally change just about everything everywhere. completely customizable. Like my site compared to the stock default board you saw at wowbb.com. they are completely different.

RE: WOWbb

So for instance, if you want to change the looks of everything, do I have to go and edit tons of files, or can I do it all through the admin interface?

RE: WOWbb

Ok, So in order to adjust how the forums themselves look (how stuff is layed out and such) you have to edit files, and then to edit the style sheets and such all you have to do is use the admin area?

If that is the case, can you have more than one theme in the sense that things are laid out completely different, in how they look? In addition to just one 'template set' in multiple colors? (If that makes any sense)
