Very basic website

I'm making a very basic website:

Index / front page
About Us page
Products page
Management page
Contact page

What else do I need ...?

RE: Very basic website

This topic belongs more in the general programming & web design area, and so I have moved it there. If you have any questions or concerns about this, feel free to PM me.

And it really depends on what the website is for. But as long as you have all the info that is needed, the website is fine. You may even be able to combine the about us and contact somehow into one page if you would like, as long as you include a link at the bottom that says contact us, that goes to the about screen or something.

Yes, as said, it depends on the topic/niche of your website.

RE: Very basic website

Don't start with a whole bunch of pages... just get the info you need to put online and make the pages from that.. not the other way around (making a bunch of pages then filling them with content). That leads to disaster.

I agree with Brian though, About/Contact can definitely be combined, and if it's a really simple website, i'd just put the products on the front page. That has the added bonus of cutting the crap and getting right down to the point on the very first page the visitor sees.

RE: Very basic website

You should also include a sitemap page and just add to it whenever you make more pages. That is recommended since search engines like to be able to spider the site quickly, and having a page that links to all the other pages makes it that much easier to be indexed.

RE: Very basic website

If that is all you need for your niche, then that should be fine. I don't find it necessarily absolute if you were to add additional pages that are useless and don't pertain to the website itself.
