RE: Too Many Forums

You've crunched a lot of forums since I last saw this thread. Smile

Usually how I like ordering my forums is as follows:
- Main Content - All the Main Forums should be before the general discussion or annoucement forums, as the main content is the main attraction. Smile
- General Discussion/Off Topic Forums - These Forums should go next, as they should be fairly active when the main forums aren't.
- Announcements/Site Feedback - This should be last. It is where the least amount of posts will go and the like.

That is just how I prefer forums to be organized, but you can wait until you get a couple people to agree with me. Smile

Cole.

RE: Too Many Forums

I was thinking of moving the general discussion areas down below to the bottom, but I hadn't decided yet on those.

As for Announcements/Site Feedback....I want visitors to know the announcements and such when they come out...which is why I put them at the top of the forums, but then again if everybody else thinks it should be moved, i'll consider moving them.

RE: Too Many Forums

I guess most of this was done prior to me joining but I like the current set up.

RE: Too Many Forums

I think the current set up is fine. You don't need to make that many more changes at this time IMO.

RE: Too Many Forums

It is good enough to optimize or combine the various forum divisions and sub-division. At the same time an endeavour should be there from the part of the admin to attract more members and to retain the existing ones. The point conversion decision should be taken immediately. It is expensive to the admin. But no harm. It will attract more new members. Restrictions on signature. At least 4 or five links should be allowed. This will help the members to get back links. As an example you can see the Digital Point. It is a huge Foru. Yet they don't have much restrictions on the signature matter. The ultimate aim is to attract more people and persuade them to remain. This action should be taken immediately. Then you see the Forum is growing. Further, appoint some good Moderators to comment on different subjects authoritatively.

RE: Too Many Forums

As for point conversion, I really have to see where things go with this forum...right now I don't make any money on this site, as I have no advertisements of my own, and so even the server is putting me in the red a little bit... So as of now I can't do anything with point conversion...

I honestly can't say what restrictions I remember putting on the signatures here...?

As for moderators, I was thinking of appointing a mod or two shortly, although I am really seeing how things pan out as I want to appoint some good moderators, but I don't want one if a moderator isn't necessary, or should I get one now do you think?

RE: Too Many Forums

I have to agree with Cole re: moving the main discussion forums up above the general ones; when I was viewing that page my first thought was "but I thought this was a forum about programming..."

Ok, I have now re-ordered the forums to reflect this.

Do they look better now?
