So, I have this problem. I'm working on a website, and I show a slideshow. Each frame has the size 271px x 60px. This works just fine in Firefox. In IE(6), however, there is a serious problem. For whatever reason, IE(6) just resizes each frame and shrinks it to 200px x 60px, 150px x 60px or something. I have no freaking idea why IE(6) does this. Again, this only happens in IE.

(BTW, http://www.cre8iveonline.com/jewellery/index.htm is the site in question.)

So, I ran a few tests to see what's going on. It seems that the code itself works fine. As I replace images with ones that I just created using Photoshop, they don't shrink. So, ... what I'm speculating now is that I need change image information inside Photoshop somehow so that, no matter what, IE(6) knows that all these frames have the size 271px x 60px.

Now, how can I do that ...???

Ever hear of WowClassic? I thought I would start a thread for future discussions instead of it being mingled with the WowBB thread. I copied most of it into here.

WowClassic is an authorized customization of the WowBB 1.7 software. WowClassic is copyright © 2007-2008 by Nancy Chandler and is distributed by WowClassicbb.com exclusively.

The main difference is the additional features in it above the standard WowBB software. It is also has a free 24/7 service response rate unlike any other (I am biased, I help service it ... well, I help out as best I can as I am good friends with the owner, Nancy).

WowBB's most successful, largest, mod and theme shop (called the WowBB Theme Mall) is run by Nancy Chandler. Guess who runs and owns WowClassic: Nancy Chandler.

I know so much about it because my personal forum site nearing 200,000 posts was the breeding ground for Classic when I started producing mods for WowBB and working with Nancy on themes and mods. We did beta testing and brainstorming together for Classic at that time. I am excited about the big features we have coming out later this year.

Here is the website: http://wowclassicbb.com/

Here is the topic that shows you the enhanced extra features you get:

http://wowclassicbb.com/forums/view_topi...orum_id=14

At FOS you can see some customized layouts and free themes I did for it. I started doing custom theme services so made FOS as a place to hang out with admins that I like and hopefully get a theme gig or two a month. I enjoy doing them. You can see the samples in a stickie in the FOR SALE forum.

So WowBB + more features = WowClassic. Another strong feature of Classic I wanted you to know about - it is on a very aggressive upgrade path - two free, but very significant upgrades this year so far even though it has only been open like 4 months! Read the testimonials, ask away at the site. I'm proud of Nancy, I really am. She's a sweet, religious lady that you could trust with anything.

I am not a pro on it like Nancy but I've hung around her enough to be able to discuss most things about Classic if anyone has any questions and stuff.

I've been studying image mapping and training in it. I've checked it out in the past but have been dying to try it, so I did. I always pictured communities actually looking like communities - you know, a town, a village, a city, futuristic fort, whatever turned you on or helped create the atmosphere you wanted to radiate. I decided to go to try it with one of my sites and just said what the heck, make it the homepage, be different, take a chance. I haven't learned how to do java scripting for fancy effects, and need to study all the pros and cons more, but I went with the conservative standard deal just for now. Getting my feet wet, trying to pool my related skills and vision into things more.

Bravo to Mapedit!

I used mapedit for the image mapping code work. It's a nice program! I can't believe it's free, too.

I'm preparing to offer this type of service as part of my existing custom theming services for WowBB and WowClassic software.

I use JavaScript image slide show often; for some reason, my clients seem to like it. But there are a couple of technical problems such as ...

1. When not all images are loaded, slide show looks messy.

2. When two or more slide shows are displayed, they don't seem to work so well. Preloading problem, etc.

What's the best JavaScript image slide show script out there? I want to be able to display a couple of different slide shows comfortably. I want the script to preload images AND THEN start playing the slide show.
I use JavaScript image slide show often; for some reason, my clients seem to like it. But there are a couple of technical problems such as ...

1. When not all images are loaded, slide show looks messy.

2. When two or more slide shows are displayed, they don't seem to work so well. Preloading problem, etc.

One of websites that I'm currently working on displays two JavaScript slide shows. If and when all images are loaded, then the website looks fine, but if not, slide shows look really messy; I need to resolve this problem.

I believe JavaScript image preloading is the solution to this problem, but I already preload images like the following:

Code:
var logoImage = new Array();
for (var i = 0; i < 11; i++)
{
    logoImage[i] = new Image();
}
logoImage[0].src="images/logo.jpg";
logoImage[1].src="images/logo.jpg";
logoImage[2].src="images/logo.jpg";
logoImage[3].src="images/logo.jpg";
logoImage[4].src="images/logo.jpg";
logoImage[5].src="images/logo1.jpg";
logoImage[6].src="images/logo2.jpg";
logoImage[7].src="images/logo3.jpg";
logoImage[8].src="images/logo4.jpg";
logoImage[9].src="images/logo5.jpg";
logoImage[10].src="images/logo6.jpg";

(Yeah, I know, the code looks very messy, but I just want this to work rather than to write an elegant code.)

What am I missing? What can I do to ... get this JavaScript image preloading work ...???

(BTW, the following is the test site: http://www.cre8iveonline.com/jewelry/index.htm )
