Software

What software do you use to design graphics? At first, I think I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro and then later on switched to Adobe Photoshop. I am currently using Adobe Photoshop and I think it's absolutely amazing.

What about you?

RE: Software

I usually use Corel Paint Shop Pro (used to be called Jasc Paint Shop Pro before), and then sometimes the gimp, and some other free open source graphics software.

I just don't really see the need to upgrade to something that does too much more at the moment.

RE: Software

I only use Photoshop. It is far and away the best graphic program I have every used. In addition all of our designers at work use Photoshop on a daily basis.

RE: Software

I use Photoshop and mapedit for image mapping. In regard to Photoshop, I have never really shopped around for better because it always satisfied me. Plus, even the film video houses I operated under had Photoshop installed everywhere, so there was little incentive for me to branch out.

RE: Software

there is nothing better the photoshop. literally every major design company, photographer, magazine, web company, etc etc etc uses it. all others like psp, publisher, etc - are all similar graphic programs for people who dont want to learn photoshop. sure you can do neat things with the other programs, but any realistic designer will admit that they are not in the same world as Adobe Photoshop.

RE: Software

They may not be as powerful as Photoshop is, but I will say they are definitely a whole lot cheaper....I would say that a limited budget is one of the big reasons a lot of people don't get photoshop, and go with cheaper alternatives.
