RE: phpbb3

I tried using the beta as was somewhat impressed.

I may take a look at it though, because I saw it at both your forums you have listed there and it seems like some nice looking, solid software.

RE: phpbb3

Note: Admin features are quite different than previous versions or other softwares so it takes time to adjust but once you get the hang of it you'll realize it's really easy. For example, the permissions and what not can be confusing but using permissions for other forums and inheriting permissions for newly created forums will save you a lot of time. The moving members amongst groups can be confusing to. If you move them to a moderator, you click on the moderator gorup's members and add them there. You have to set it as default for their color code to change as well. Threw me off for a while.

Also, I'm not sure why they didn't have a quick reply built in, should be in all softwares.

RE: phpbb3

As for the quick reply...I am not sure any version of phpbb has had a quick reply built in has it? (seems to me you have always had to use a mod for that, unless I am wrong?)

And as for the permissions, they didn't inherit permissions in earlier versions? Wow, lol I guess I am spoiled with myBB and such...

RE: phpbb3

TVDinner, does phpBB3 have a plugin system for installing mods? That was what took up the most time with the last version... that, and deleting the spam Smile

RE: phpbb3

it is not straight plug in, and is still install based, but I have not found it difficult.
so far the spam issue seems to be controlled by better registration options to combat it.

RE: phpbb3

Well I am kinda disappointed by what I hear about the plugin system...

I would have thought they would have caught up with the rest of the forum systems and had a really easy to use system.
