Smile  New Theme

I don't want to sound mean but I think the theme should be changed. There are many great themes for MyBB 1.2.x at http://mods.mybboard.net/themes.php?vid=9.

The default blue theme looks nice but I would prefer a bit of customization and uniqueness.

RE: New Theme

The reason I kept it with the default is it seemed to fit with the rest of the site fairly well. I have been slowly changing some things around with the theme though, such as the member bar at the top resembles more of an IPB style.

The problem with changing the theme around too much, is then with every update to myBB I have to go and re-do the customizations and such.

That is true, but a custom theme always beats out stock, whether it takes a little work or not.

RE: New Theme

i say customize away and never be held back by the concerns of upgrades and things like that. That will just stifle you into doing nothing. and every time you need to redo changes you get better at the custom coding and learning the code in general. All which is positive.

RE: New Theme

Well yes, but I did have the theme customized quite a bit more than this, and it all got stifled out with an upgrade to the forums....and I am not sure I want to spend all that time again...

So far I have done a fair amount of customizing to the layout of the index page of the forums, the bottom with the board stats and such....and also with how the member bar up top resembles more the style of an IPB board. Maybe i'll look into editing some other things and such with the forums sometime.
